Iron Rolls
Nodular Iron: Nodular Iron materials have a toughness advantage over grain or chill iron grades. The Spheroidal shape of the graphite phase makes these rolls less sensitive to impact. Consequently, softer nodular iron is applied in heavy breakdown services while the harder grades are specified for intermediate and finishing stands.

Application: |
Heat Treated Ductile Iron – Tough cadbide free that responds well to heat treating. The result is a very good resistance to thermal fatique. HDI can be hardened to produce a deep bainitic structure. it may be softened to a spherodite or used in as-cast state. Good for roughed in passes then heat theated for deep uniform hardness. |
